Talent Hunt Competition – A Suggestion.

Indian girls want to be Lata Mangeshkar. Wow! At least a lot of production houses believe this or perhaps the market report helped them to realize that. So you got platforms like “Indian Idol”, “Star Voice of India”, “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” etc. But Lata must dance to sell her album. Ooops! Most of them don’t have that look and can’t dance either. Fortunately some of them have passed the preliminary rounds successfully.
A police vehicle set on fire: Photo: Reuters And now, their fate depends on the public votes. Doubt arises- who is a “public” or rather who votes- the family of those contestants or people who knows singing well? In most cases, the school or college girls become fascinated to particular good-looking male contestant (May be for this reason, girls are voted out from the top 5 or 3.). No matter how well he sings, his appearance seems countable for his success. Once a contestant was asked, whether he is against the voting system or not, he replied, it was the public vote for which he was giving the interview. Now, the diagram of competition is changing shapes and colors - region vs. region and state vs. state. People madly votes to make the contestant of their region the winner. So, why the show-organizers are having judges? Oh sorry, actually they are there to fight between themselves and make the show spicier. Why don’t they look for composers rather than singers? Public can easily judge good composers and industry can use them in different ways. At least we may get rid of inspired materials. About the Author
